The 2A Continental Architecture Award is one of the most prestigious architectural events in the world, annually presented by the professional 2A Magazine. This magazine evaluates works in the fields of innovation and the future, residential villas and apartments, office buildings, and urban spaces. Each year, talented and creative Iranian architects are often among the winners or serve as judges.
In 2021, the Blue Room Designers Group, an interior design firm based in Tehran, was honored to be among the finalists for this prestigious award with the following project:

Designer’s Description: The client requested a modern and minimal office space on Fereshteh Street. Given the nature of their products (specialized fabrics and wall coverings) and their clientele, who are mainly renowned designers and architects from Districts 1 and 2 of Tehran, the interior designer opted for a modern and minimal style, enhanced with luxurious branded elements and a touch of opulence in the color scheme and overall decor.

Designer’s Description:
Humans have always sought their own personal space—a space that, in today’s world, we spend even more time in due to global changes. This space serves multiple functions, going beyond its primary role as shelter. It becomes a place for work, interaction, entertainment, exercise, and most importantly, a retreat that rejuvenates our minds, bodies, and souls, away from the chaos of modern life. A home should not only reflect our personality but also express our individuality and freedom.
“His House”, created by Blue Room Designers, is located 10 kilometers outside of Ramsar, nestled in the foothills of Estel Village near Javaher Deh. With breathtaking views of forests and the sea, this private villa is designed as a sanctuary for its owners in pristine nature. The design is a direct response to the psychological and functional needs of the client, infused with Blue Room Designers’ creative ideas.
Nominated for the 2A Architecture Award, this villa draws inspiration from traditional Iranian architecture, particularly the use of central courtyards and voids to create natural light, shade, and ventilation, all while maintaining privacy for its inhabitants. The concept is a blend of architectural design and modern engineering. Its complex structure, energy management system, and rainwater harvesting contribute to its sustainability, ensuring minimal energy consumption in varying weather conditions.
The modern façade of “His House” is shaped like a cube, with its floors designed as U-shaped platforms revolving around the central void. This creates panoramic views of the villa’s lush greenery and numerous water features from every angle. The villa’s open, airy layout, with large folding windows and multiple terraces at different levels, allows for a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces, turning the surrounding scenery into an immersive living experience.
